  • Assists Campus Directors of Education with the oversight of online faculty in all relevant aspects of the American Career College faculty competencies related to online instruction.
  • Maintains and trains online faculty on all course policies and procedures governing online instruction.
  • Participates in developing and applying policies and procedures for hiring, training, developing, evaluating, and coaching faculty teaching online courses.
  • Ensure all online courses are taught effectively and assist the Campus Directors of Education in the supervision of faculty teaching online courses.
  • Assists Campus Directors of Education and Program Directors with online observations as needed and provides feedback to faculty.
  • Completes faculty course checks and performance reviews on a consistent schedule, and on an as needed basis.
  • Provides coaching and mentoring to faculty in the pedagogy of online delivery.
  • Recruits, trains, and provides orientation for new online faculty, including on-going mentorship and faculty training to ensure that faculty are apprised of current online faculty competencies, expectations, policies, programs, and initiatives. This also includes contributing to faculty orientation by providing objectives and content related to the learning management system, email, videoconferencing, library research, other relevant digital resources and policies that impact their participation in the online curriculum.
  • Oversees faculty in overall online classroom instruction assignments. -
    • Effectively utilizes assessment tools to verify faculty are using rubrics to provide fast and comprehensive feedback and ensure grading consistency from student to student and section to section of a course; review electronic grade center to ensure accuracy of calculated weighted totals.
    • On a quarterly basis reaches out to faculty by phone email, or survey (or supports faculty outreach) to verify that faculty have access to relevant technology and that faculty have achieved a standard of comfort with the use of technologies that enable actual learning outcomes and contribute to a high level satisfaction with the class and program experience.
    • Provide instructional staff with motivational materials that will enhance the learning experience within their classrooms.
    • Supports College Administration in ensuring faculty comply with expectations set forth in the ACC Faculty Expectations.
    • Ensure that all instructors are motivating students to achieve their highest level of academic and professional proficiencies.
    • Reviews quarterly student satisfaction surveys specific to blended instruction and conducts online observations as needed. Technical Functions
      • Remains current in the application of emerging instructional technologies.
      • Communicates with ACC technical staff to troubleshoot technical issues incurred by online faculty, students and support staff that inhibit teaching and learning in the remote or blended format.
      • Works closely with online team, attends meetings and provides reports and/or information as needed or requested. DE Curriculum
        • Reviews syllabi to confirm that information in the syllabus reflects, and is consistent with, the remote or blended delivery format of classes while ensuring consistency with similar courses offered on-ground, if applicable.
        • Assures that expected learning outcomes correspond to documented course and program outcomes.
        • Collaborates with the subject matter expert in the design of courses, incorporating the appropriate use of technologies to maximize interaction; for example, effective use of feeds, student-instructor direct communication, student-student collaboration environments, learning management communication tools (e.g., journals, wikis, electronic white boards), and other third-party applications.
        • Adheres to a cycle of revision and review of online programs and online instruction. Professional Development
        • Participates in professional development and organizations, attends meetings, workshops and seminars and conducts research to enrich personal growth, knowledge and skill in management and assigned responsibilities. - Adheres to College/University policies and procedures and conducts job responsibilities in accordance with the standards set out in the College/University's Code of Ethical Conduct, Compliance Agreement, Sexual Harassment Policy or any of its policies and procedures, applicable federal and state laws, and applicable professional standards. Maintains regular and timely attendance, reports to work as scheduled and as required to meet the needs of the College/University and assures time worked and/or time-off is recorded properly. Exercises care, proper use and maintenance of department equipment and supplies and identifies unsafe conditions and makes appropriate adjustments. Maintains order, cleanliness and safety at work. Performs other duties as assigned. - - - - EDUCATION: Master's degree in education, curriculum and instruction, or related discipline field required. - - - - LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: None. - - KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE: Minimum 3-4 years of experience in higher education roles. Minimum 1-2 years of experience in providing oversight and support to faculty teaching in an online environment. Knowledge of technological support and delivery of online educational programs and services. Leadership knowledge in specific program field to cultivate a learner-centered environment and to foster excellence Knowledge of applicable computer application systems to supply the most accurate information, reports and projections. Demonstrated high attention to detail. Experience in the fields of allied health, nursing, or science is a plus.ABOUT US
