Manager (PM) at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better
tomorrow. In this job you will lead the environmental aspects of
infrastructure projects. While leading and overseeing environmental
planning, analysis, permitting, and execution, you will build
strong partnerships with internal and external clients and
demonstrate effective project management skills to deliver projects
on time, on budget, and in compliance. The successful candidate
will provide interdisciplinary expertise in environmental
regulatory frameworks including CEQA/NEPA and associated resource
areas and will be the single point of contact within the Company
for all environmental scope on your assigned projects. SCE's
Environmental Services Department (ESD) is a group of divisions
that provide environmental compliance services to all operating
units across SCE. Within the ESD, the Project Environmental
Management Division (PEM) provides management of the planning,
siting, licensing, permitting, construction, and consultant
services for SCE electrical and other infrastructure projects
throughout the project lifecycle. As an environmentalPMyour work

- Manage multi-disciplinary technical teams and external
consultants to perform environmental analysis supporting project
development, permitting, and implementation.
- Clearly communicate environmental strategy, policy, and
compliance requirements to internal clients for environmental
planning, permitting, and construction, for infrastructure
projects.
- Manage and coordinate the entire environmental scope of
assigned projects.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of CEQA and NEPA, including
staying up to date on case law to accurately advise internal client
organizations and provide CEQA/NEPA strategy.
- Develop, direct, and/or implement compliance approaches toward
acquisition of permits in coordination with technical experts,
including biologists, cultural resource specialists, water quality
specialists, GIS, etc.
- Procure, lead and be responsible for contractors who assist
with project work.
- Establish project objectives, timelines, risks, milestones,
deliverables, and budgets and track and report on this
information.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with internal
client organizations and external regulatory agencies.
- Provide strategic recommendations and highlight risks to
support SCE project development and execution.
- Assist team members to continuously update
strategies/processes/procedures to ensure
consistency/standardization of approach across ESD, while
identifying innovative solutions on a project-specific basis, in
accordance with agency regulation to improve corporate
environmental compliance effectiveness.
- Contribute to cross-functional teams (e.g., engineers, field
crews) to address issues and solve problems to advance
projects.
- Assess and implement continuous improvement of processes and
procedures. Qualifications
The essentials
- Bachelor's degree or higher in environmental studies,
environmental sciences, natural sciences, urban planning, public
policy, or another related field.
- Seven (7) or more years of experience in environmental
planning, compliance, studies, or project management.
- Three (3) or more years of experience with regulatory
compliance and permitting such as CEQA/NEPA, Endangered Species Act
and Clean Water Act, for a variety of development projects.
- Two (2) or more years of project support or management
activities such as tracking project details, schedules, budgets,
invoices, and interacting with internal/external clients. The
preferred
- Experience working with state and federal land management
agencies (e.g., U.S. Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management,
National Park Service, California State Parks, etc.) and the
California Public Utilities Commission
- Demonstrate effective resource and project planning, problem
solving, critical decision-making, results delivery, and team
building
- Demonstrate strong ethics, influencing and negotiation skills,
leadership, interpersonal skills, communication, and the ability to
handle stress and engage in continuous learning
- Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships
with business partners, cross-functional project teams, peers, all
levels of managements, and external stakeholders
- Excellent writing skills and ability to explain technical
compliance requirements and resource management strategies to both
a technical and non-technical audience
- Demonstrated experience working on multiple projects
simultaneously
- Utility industry experience
- Geographic Information System (GIS) experience
- Project Management certification You should know This
position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE
facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely
on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are
required to reside in the state of California. Further details of

However, the successful candidate may also be asked to work for an
extended amount of time at (alternate work location).
- Position will require up to 10% traveling and being out in the
field throughout the SCE service territory .
- This position has an option for a 9/80 Alternate Work Schedule
or 40hrs/5 days a week.
- This position is a Department of Transportation (DOT) covered
classification and is subject to random drug and/or alcohol
screening.
- Relocation does not apply to this position. Testing
- This position requires testing and applicants who are
identified to continue through the selection process will be
