ABOUT THE POSITION
MAINTENANCE WORKER
MONTHLY SALARY: $3,817 - $4,982
PLUS AN EXCELLENT BENEFITS PACKAGE
THIS RECRUITMENT IS TO FILL TWO FULL-TIME VACANCIES IN THE PUBLIC
WORKS DEPARTMENT AND TO ESTABLISH AN ELIGIBILITY LIST TO BE USED
FOR FUTURE VACANCIES.
The selection process will consist of a competitive evaluation of
qualifications based on a review of the Application and
Supplemental Questionnaire; therefore it is to your advantage to
provide as much detailed and relevant work experience. A resume

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
SUMMARY: Under general supervision, performs a variety of
semi-skilled and unskilled construction, maintenance and repair of
City streets, parks, and facilities, landscape, city-wide graffiti
abatement, plumbing, irrigation systems, trees, alleys, and traffic
signals for the Public Works Department; operates vehicles,
equipment, and tools in accordance with all safety regulations and
quality standards. Performs other duties as required or
assigned.

High School Diploma or GED equivalent; AND two (2) years of
maintenance work experience or repair work.

Physical Demands and Working Environment:
Work is performed indoors and outdoors at work sites throughout the
City; requires constant physical efforts and ability to lift and
move items weighing up to 50 pounds. Must be able to work extended
hours, weekends, and holidays as needed, and respond to emergency
call-outs. May be required to travel to various sites, locations,
and/or events. Employees are required to be in attendance and
prepared to begin work at their assigned work location on the
specified days and hours; employees are required to assume duties
of a disaster worker in the event of a locally declared
emergency.
